Questions
Good to know
Do you provide dhol players for the baraat?
Yes. DJ Ravi and Kaka G both play dhol, and we can add a second dhol for bigger processions.
Do you need power outlets for the baraat?
No. Our baraat setup runs on battery-powered speakers, so it can move anywhere the procession goes.
How long is a typical baraat?
Most baraats last 30 to 45 minutes from gathering to milni. We plan the music around your schedule and the venue's timeline.
Can the baraat team also do the reception?
Yes. Most families book us for the baraat, ceremony audio and reception together so the music and timing stay consistent all day.
Do you do baraats outside Columbus?
Yes. We travel anywhere within about two hours of Columbus, including Dayton, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Toledo.

For a baraat, DJ Wale brings live dhol and a portable sound system that moves with the procession, so the groom's family can dance from the gathering point to the venue doors. We serve Columbus and the area within about two hours, and the same team can stay on for your ceremony and reception.
The baraat is the loudest, happiest part of an Indian wedding day, and it only works if the music keeps moving with the crowd. A speaker left at the curb or a playlist on a phone kills it in a minute.
We pair live dhol with a battery-powered portable sound rig and a DJ who mixes bhangra and Punjabi baraat anthems in real time, building the energy as the procession gets closer to the doors. When the bride's side is ready, we bring it down for the milni and welcome.
Hotel parking lots, ballroom driveways and outdoor venues across central Ohio all have their own rules about noise and start times. We confirm them with the venue in advance so your baraat starts on time and nobody is asked to turn it down.
How it runs, step by step
- Plan the route: We confirm the meeting point, the route and the venue's start time and noise rules.
- Warm-up: Dhol and music start as the groom's family gathers, with a few crowd favorites to get the uncles moving.
- Build the energy: Live dhol with a bhangra mix that gets louder and faster as the procession nears the doors.
- Milni and welcome: We drop the music for the milni, then play the welcome as the families meet.
- Into the ceremony: The team moves inside for ceremony microphones and background music.
The music
Baraat music is mostly Punjabi and bhangra: big dhol-driven tracks the whole family knows, plus a few Bollywood baraat classics. Tell us the groom's favorite entry song and any family songs you want; we will save the biggest one for the final stretch to the door.
Planning tips
- Plan for 30 to 45 minutes of baraat time. Processions always run longer than expected once the dancing starts.
- Check whether your venue allows a horse or a car and where the procession can start; hotels often assign a specific entrance.
- Pick a rain plan. We can move the baraat under a portico or into a lobby with the same sound.
- If you have guests coming from out of town, start the baraat after most of them have checked in.
