DJ Wale plays Punjabi and Sikh weddings across central Ohio, covering the jaggo, mehndi, baraat with live dhol and the reception. Our emcee hosts in Punjabi, Hindi and English, and our sets are built on bhangra, Punjabi pop and folk, with Bollywood and Top 40 for mixed crowds.

Punjabi weddings set the energy bar high. The jaggo, the boliyan, the dhol and the bhangra are the parts guests talk about for years, and the music has to match.

We keep the Anand Karaj respectful: the ceremony belongs to the gurdwara, and we do not play there unless the family and gurdwara ask us to help with audio. Before and after, we bring the dhol and the bhangra.

Our Punjabi sets mix classic bhangra, current Punjabi pop and folk, with the boliyan the elders love. Kaka G hosts in Punjabi so the program lands with every generation.

How it runs, step by step

  • Family songs: Folk songs and boliyan, then bhangra as the dancing starts.
  • Night procession: Dhol and portable sound for the jaggo, with the family's favorite boliyan.
  • Baraat and milni: Live dhol and bhangra for the baraat; quiet for the milni.
  • Anand Karaj: We stay out of the ceremony and step in for the reception afterwards.
  • Bhangra night: Grand entrance with dhol, speeches, first dance and a bhangra-heavy floor.

The music

Expect classic bhangra and boliyan for the elders, current Punjabi pop for the cousins, and Bollywood and Top 40 for everyone else. We know when to bring the dhol in on top of a track and when to let the song carry the room.

Planning tips

  • Tell us which boliyan and folk songs matter to your family; we plan moments around them.
  • If you are holding a jaggo at home, check neighborhood rules and plan the loud part early.
  • Ask your gurdwara about any audio needs for the langar hall or reception area.
