DJ Wale plays engagement parties, roka, sagai and ring ceremonies in Columbus and the surrounding area. We provide microphones for the ceremony and blessings, an emcee for the program, and a Bollywood, Punjabi and Top 40 set when the dancing starts.
An engagement is often the first time both families celebrate together, and it sets the tone for the wedding. The audio needs to be clear for the ring exchange and blessings, and the music needs to bring two families onto one floor.
We right-size the setup for homes, restaurants, banquet rooms and hotel ballrooms, and our emcee runs the program: welcome, introductions of both families, the ring exchange, speeches and the first dance as an engaged couple.
Couples who book us for the engagement often keep us for the wedding, which means we already know the families and their songs.
How it runs, step by step
- Welcome: Background Bollywood and instrumentals.
- Rings and blessings: Microphones and a quiet moment for the rituals.
- Speeches: Introductions and toasts from both families.
- Dance: Couple's dance, then Bollywood, bhangra and Top 40.
Two families, one floor
An engagement is often the first party both families attend together. Our emcee introduces both sides, explains any rituals for guests who are new to them, and invites everyone onto the floor. The set mixes each family's favorites so nobody feels like a guest at someone else's party.
A preview of the wedding
Couples often use the engagement to try ideas for the wedding: an entrance song, a first dance, a dhol moment. It is a chance to see how we work with your families and to start planning the bigger day with a team that already knows you.
The music
Romantic Bollywood for the ceremony, then upbeat Bollywood, Punjabi and Top 40 for the party.
Planning tips
- Pick the ring exchange song in advance.
- Plan speeches from both families to keep the program balanced.
- Ask about booking the wedding at the same time; popular dates go fast.
